Here are some pictures of a tile and grout cleaning and sealing job we did in Brisbane on the north side in the suburb of Chermside.

The tiles had to be cleaned with our high pressure cleaning system, then a neutraliser is applied and then the tiles are dried using powerful air movers.

Once the cleaning and neutralising has been done the sealer can be applied. With sealers, it’s important to have the correct air temperature, or the sealer can take too long to dry and the desired effects may not be as good.

Generally, the sealers take about 15 minutes to dry and then a second coat can be applied. In heavy traffic areas, a third coat can also be applied, but in general a two coat system is plenty and will last for many years.

The most important part of sealing tiles and grout lines is to have them professionally cleaned beforehand. When it comes to most things around the home, preparation is the key factor. If short cuts are taken, the sealers will not last as long as they are intended for.
