Sleep Tight – In A bed Bug Free Environment – What Can You Do To Help?
We have all heard that saying, “Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite_!” We have probably even said it without realizing exactly what we were repeating by rote.
The truth is if you have bed bugs they will bite and the only way to stop them is to exterminate them. Quickly, before they get a chance to spread into other parts of your room or home.
When you employ Best 1 Cleaning & Pest Management to treat your home against a bed bug or mite infestation the first thing we will do is thoroughly vacuum your mattress with our high powered machine.
Once this has been completed we will move onto the skirting boards of your room, paying attention to any cracks and crevices.
Once the bed and the perimeter has been cleared we are free to work into the middle of the room and give the carpet an intense clean.
We can supply further protection by treating your room with a non-toxic spray.
Today, Best 1 Cleaning & Pest Management** **want to outline what you can do to help prevent a re-occurrence or spreading of these annoying little critters.
Keep it Contained
If you discover bed bugs in your room you should give all your clothing a good wash to ensure there are no eggs or larvae left after our treatment. To do this it is best to keep it contained in your room.
Sort your clothing as you would for any wash day and put each pile into a sealed garbage bag. This will allow you to transport your clothing to the laundry or laundromat without spreading anything.
Wash and Dry
All items should be emptied gently into the washing machine and the bag should be folded in on itself to contain any vermin and placed into another clean bag.
Wash items on the hottest setting they can stand and sundry them. Follow this step with each bag of clothing.
Any dry clean only items can be placed into a dryer at their hottest setting for a minimum of 30 minutes and then taken to the dry cleaner for cleaning and pressing.
Another precaution you can take whilst you ensure you are completely free of pests is to store your clothing in clean, sealed, plastic bags.
