Carpet Cleaning Techniques and Machines
[separator top=”-55″ bottom=”10″ style=””]
Carpets are subjected to a lot of foot activity, especially if they are installed in high traffic areas of the home like the living room and bedroom. Hence, it is normal for carpets to accumulate dirt and grime, including mud or dust from shoes, food stains and even messes created by pets. Carpets need regular cleaning or else they become unattractive and worst become a health risk to you, your family members and pets.
Stains should be immediately removed, so they will permanently blemish the carpet. Carpets should be regularly cleaned, once or more times depending on foot traffic, to keep them spotless and fresh smelling. The cleaning should be done by specialists who know how to operate professional carpet cleaning equipment properly and efficiently.
In the below video, Jason demonstrates some of the different machines and techniques used by professional carpet cleaning companies. For more information about Best 1 carpet cleaning services, please call our office on 1800 187 561.
A short overview:
Truck Mounted Machine / Steam Cleaning Machine
Any machine that is bolted to the truck is a truck mounted machine. This type of unit is strictly for steam cleaning. It has its own power plant and doesn’t require the use of the customer’s electricity or hot water. With a turn of a key, the machine does the entire carpet cleaning process automatically, including heating the water. It pumps the cleaning solution onto the carpet at the same as it is cleaning the carpet.
The process is quite different At Best1 Cleaning. The company prefers to pre-spray the carpet separately beforehand. A holding tank that is used to store sanitisers, deodoriser, conditioners and softeners are pumped through the steam. Once the steam hits the carpet, the sanitising, deodorising and conditioning are also in at the same time and residue is extracted.
Portable Hot Water Extraction
This machine works very similar to a steam cleaning machine. In actuality, the carpet is cleaned by hot water extraction, not steam cleaning. Hot water is poured into the clean water chamber located at the back of the machine and then pumped through a small fitment located on the lower portion onto a hose and onto the carpet. The water is sucked up through a bigger pipe back to the machine, specifically in the dirty water chamber.
Carpet Dry Cleaning Machine / Encapsulation Clean
This machine looks similar to a vacuum cleaner, but with a large plastic tank that holds the cleaning solution and a spinning rotary pad that applies the solution onto the carpet. There are pads for different carpets or for different carpet cleaning situations. This type of machine is primarily for dry cleaning or encapsulation cleaning machine. Dry Clean and Encapsulation Clean are pretty much the same, except that each uses a slightly different product.
