Spot Stain Removal from Carpets & Upholstery

Spot stains on upholstery and carpets can be a real pain and very unsightly. There are all sorts of cleaning products you can buy from the shops or supermarkets, but as many of our customers figure out not many of them work as they describe.
The Power of Extraction Machines
With most spot stains they need to be extracted from the material, and the only way of doing this is by using an extraction machine like a steam cleaner.
Most of the products sold in supermarkets are generally safe for most materials. But if you don’t extract them, then it stays where you sprayed it. However, this leaves a residual that can become sticky.
Over time dust will settle on the area that was treated and make the stain you were trying to get out even worse.
Some spot cleaning solutions can be left in the material without the need of extracting them. They are specially formulated for this purpose; these are generally used by professional carpet cleaners for the purpose of spot cleaning.
One of our customers had a blood spot on her lounge suite that she had tried to get out with a spotter from the shops but was unsuccessful. She couldn’t understand how we could get the stain out by just spraying a spotter onto the mark without using a machine.
We were able to do this because the products we use are formulated to encapsulate the dirt and dust and safely remove the stain.
I have to say, as it was a blood stain we were removing for the customer, and we did extract it also. With these types of stains it’s best to fully remove them.
Why Hire Experts
In most cases it’s easier and cheaper to just call in the experts to help with any unwanted marks or stains that you may have in your upholstery or carpets. It’s not only done without any fuss, but it’s done safely so not to damage the material.
Many people damage their upholstery or carpets by being too aggressive when trying to remove stains, and by this I mean they try and scrub the mark out. When if they had the right cleaning product to start with the product would do most of the work for them.
But nothing will ever compare to hiring the services of a professional carpet cleaning company to help in the removal of stains.
Some stains are permanent and can only be treated by using some different techniques such as heat transfer. The right solution also needs to be used when attempting this type of stain removal technique.
Heat transfer should only be done by a professional that has done it many times before, as it can end up permanently damaging some materials by burning them.
If, after this method the stain still remains, then the only way to make it blend somewhat is to colour dye the area. This method is time consuming and will only work well on fairly new carpet and upholstery that still has good body and that has not started to fade.
