Importance of Pest Control Warranties
Pest control warranties service calls are an important part of a pest control service. Having a written warranty will mean it won’t cost you money if a problem arises with a treatment that has been carried out by your pest controller.
Treatment for Fleas and Best 1’s Warranty
We were called out to a customer in Zillmere on Brisbane’s northside to do a treatment for fleas about a month ago. This customer had already had another company do the job just 3 weeks prior to us going out, but they wouldn’t honour their warranty. So the customer had to pay twice for a treatment that should have been covered with a warranty.
Once we arrived, we quickly realised that there was a very bad problem with fleas. It would have been classed as an infestation, as there were fleas everywhere all under the house and all through the garden as well.
Our initial treatment was done with a liquid spray at high pressure. This allows us to quickly bring the problem under control. This process took about 1.5 hours to complete. The company before us had done the whole job in 15 minutes from what the customer had told us.
Now here is where the warranty comes in handy. After we had finished the treatment, we told the customer that they may need us to do another spray in about 3-4 weeks, which they were to call us if they had any further problems.
The customer did call us after 3 weeks, saying that the main of the problem had gone, but they were seeing just a few still under the house. This is normal for a heavy infestation, so we arranged a time for us to return to the property and do a re-spray underneath the house.
This customer shouldn’t have any more problems with fleas, so long as they keep their dog on a flea program such as “Front Line” or “Advantage.” These are two very good products and should be applied to pets on a monthly basis during the winter months and every two weeks during the summer months.
Flea eggs can lay dormant in undisturbed places for up to twelve months, and will only merge into an adult flea when the air temperature is right and if there is a blood meal available.
Having a professional pest controller that has an understanding of the life cycle and habits of fleas will mean you get the very best service when it comes to getting rid of flea problems in and around the home.
