End of lease cleaning is something tenants dread. By the time all the moving of furniture is done and the numerous trips to the new house, the last thing anyone wants to do is clean the house or unit. Using a professional cleaner that can do the exit clean and do it to the high standards that the real estate agent wants is the easiest way to go.
Important Areas to Clean
When vacating a rental at the end of a lease the cleaning should be done in the right order. All the main cleaning, such as walls, doors, light switches, fans and their blades and all the skirting boards along with the kitchens and bathrooms, should all be done first this way when the carpet cleaning is done no one will be walking all over the freshly cleaned carpets. This is very important because if there are any marks or stains left in the carpets when the final inspection is done, the property manager will reject the job and ask for it to be cleaned again, and this could cost more money. Once the carpets have been done, the final thing should be the pest control treatment. This is usually done for cockroaches and or fleas. If the tenant has had a pet on the premises, the agent will require the internal and external flea treatment be done in order to have the bond released.
When doing an end of lease clean, it is also important that it is done a few days before the keys have to be handed back to the property manager. This few days of grace will give you enough time to do a final inspection yourself so that you can be absolutely sure that all the cleaning and pest requirements are up to scratch.
Professional Exit Cleaning
Using a professional cleaning company that specialises in exit cleaning and one that can do everything at once will save you money and time. Most people are too busy working these days to do the cleaning themselves, so it makes sense to use a company to do it for them. But it is important that the work carried out by the cleaning company has a warranty on it. If an agent has a complaint about anything, you want to make sure the company will go back and sort it out free of charge.
After the cleaning, a full receipt should be issued with a detail of the work carried out. This will be needed to show the agent that the cleaning has been done by a professional end of lease cleaning company. The receipt is also the key to having the bond release because without it the agent will not put the request into the RTA to have it released.
With disputes when vacating a rental property or moving out of a house, unit or business premises, they can take month to resolve and end up costing more money than the bond is worth. So it will always pay to hire the services of a professional cleaning company when at the end of a lease agreement.
